Y&T Bassist AARON LEIGH to Release New Single
"Keep My Dreams Alive"

Legendary hard rock band Y&T's bass player, Aaron Leigh, is excited to announce the upcoming release of his latest single, "Keep My Dreams Alive." 
Set to be available on December 31st, 2023, in celebration of Aaron's birthday, this heartfelt song showcases Aaron Leigh's ever-evolving talent and artistry. 
With a guitar driven, hard rock vibe, captivating melodies and an inspiring message of perseverance, "Keep My Dreams Alive" is a track that is sure to resonate with audiences.

Joining Aaron on this track is renowned guitarist Joel Hoekstra, known for his work with WHITESNAKE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, CHER, and more. Speaking about the collaboration, Aaron states, "I had Joel in mind to play the guitar solos right from the start of this recording process. We had played together a few times on the Monsters of Rock Cruise, and I've always been blown away by his playing. He's truly one of the greatest guitarists out there today!"

"Keep My Dreams Alive" reflects on Aaron Leigh's personal journey, highlighting the sacrifices made along the way. The lyrics emphasize the importance of embracing change, facing adversity with strength, and finding solace in faith. Aaron's ability to play all the instruments on the track showcases his talent as a multi-instrumentalist and his ability to create soulful melodies and introspective lyrics that resonate with listeners.

Born and raised in San Jose, California, Aaron Leigh's musical journey began at the age of 5 when his Grandmother gave him drumsticks and a practice pad, introducing him to the mesmerizing performance of Buddy Rich on the Mike Douglas Show. Inspired by the rhythmic beats, Aaron quickly embraced the drums and started playing.

At the age of 10, Aaron's path took a rock 'n' roll turn when he discovered KISS, igniting a deep passion within him. Determined to become a lifelong musician, he picked up the guitar and immersed himself in the world of rock.

As Aaron continued to explore the realm of music, he encountered influential bands such as RUSH and IRON MAIDEN.

At the age of 14, he found his calling in the bass guitar and began honing his skills. It was during this time that he stumbled upon a band called Y&T. Drawn in by their captivating cover art, he purchased their album "Black Tiger" without even hearing a single note. When he finally dropped the needle on the record, Y&T's music resonated with him like no other, instantly becoming his favorite band.

In a remarkable twist of fate, Aaron Leigh joined Y&T as their bass player in April of 2016, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Reflecting on this incredible opportunity, Aaron humbly acknowledges, "Being a lifelong fan of Y&T and then ending up as the bass player in one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE bands is an incredible blessing... I'm VERY lucky."

While thriving as a member of Y&T, Aaron Leigh's creative spirit extends beyond the band. He is also a solo artist, songwriter, recording engineer, and producer. On March 4th, 2021, he released his first solo EP, featuring tracks like "INSANITY," "TELL ME," "JEWEL EYED JUDY," and "DON'T SAY GOODBYE." The EP's first single, "Insanity," showcased the talents of Frank Hannon, co-founder and lead guitarist of the platinum-selling band TESLA, who contributed incredible solos that added another layer of melodic beauty to the song.

Noted radio personalities have praised Aaron's solo work, with Eddie Trunk of Trunk Nation/Sirius/XM Radio commenting, "Aaron's done a great job playing bass in one of my favorite bands Y&T. But his new solo single shows he has a lot to offer as a solo artist as well. 'INSANITY' is a great melodic rocker!"

Aaron Leigh's debut EP is a captivating journey into his musical origins and influences. Drawing from the sounds of classic 70s California Pop/Rock, the EP's three original tracks, accompanied by an early-era Fleetwood Mac cover, pay homage to Aaron's musical upbringing. Driven by an unwavering passion for music and an insatiable desire to explore new horizons, Aaron Leigh embarked on a  solo recording journey. With no preconceived expectations, he ventured into the studio to indulge in the pure joy of writing and recording music. 

"I'm just doing what I do as a musician and an artist...writing and recording music with NO expectations, to just live in the creative process," Leigh reveals. 

The inception of "Bahia Sunshine" emerged serendipitously, as an opportunity to bring his musical ideas to life. Inspired by the likes of Bowie, T-Rex, and the Beatles, Leigh ingeniously weaves together a tapestry of influences, culminating in a distinctive and captivating sound. His melodic arrangements and infectious hooks invite listeners on a sonic journey that transcends time and genre boundaries. 

Lyrically, "Bahia Sunshine" delves into profound themes of temptation, regret, and the eternal quest for meaning and purpose in life. The enigmatic line, "look for the 7th sign"  hints at a belief entrenched in spiritual and mystical traditions, an exploration of hidden messages or signs that guide us toward enlightenment and understanding.
